Over the years I've tried many a beauty box, from monthly subscriptions to create-your-own style boxes with mixed reviews. I still think while the traditional type of beauty box that you subscribe to can be worth the month they do need to try a little hard on the whole.

However, the one-off limited edition boxes really are where it's at! Not only can you fully decide which box you want to treat yourself to but they truly offer the best value for money especially with the more premium beauty boxes.

Today I have the most amazing beauty box to share with you that includes over £135 worth of free makeup with brands from the likes of Anastasia Beverly Hills, Pixi, Sunday Riley & Colour Pop. This is hands down the best limited edition beauty box I've seen all year and just had to share it with you!

Beauty boxes are certainly nothing new with more and more brands getting on board with the whole concept and trying to do it well. I say 'trying' because a lot seem to miss the mark by including unheard of beauty brands, the same products as other beauty boxes or simply failing to offer anything exciting or worth a monthly or one-off spend!

Which is why I'm pretty fussy when it comes to trying and receiving new beauty boxes and I guess why beauty boxes aren't often featured on Makeup Savvy anymore. But today I thought I'd share with you three beauty boxes, only one of which requires a monthly subscription (you could cancel after your first box, mind), that all offer something different and I feel are very much worth the spend!

It's not often a come across a beauty box that I think 'wow' about, or I see as amazing value for money. Beauty Box brands often work with the same companies, offering the same old samples which if you are new to the beauty box world is fine, but if you're a B.B.V (beauty-box-veteran) then it's all a bit snooze-worthy and not worth signing up to.

Cue stand alone one-off beauty boxes that require no direct debit or commitment, these are something to get excited about. Below is an amazing box that retails for only £20 (worth £70) and includes 10 products from some high end/well-known beauty brands.

Glossybox-june-2016-review

When it comes to beauty box reviews I'm a little hit and miss as I have so many other reviews and posts I want to write first!

However when this month's weighty Glossybox was delivered I knew I needed to give it a review ASAP as I love everything in it and it's just ideal for summer or if you are going on holiday anytime soon.

As always the Glossybox box costs £10 (plus p&p) and can be bought as a one-off box then cancelled or subscribed to for 3,6 or 12 months making it even cheaper. But personally I'd suggest signing up to the monthly plan so that you can cancel anytime... even after your first box if you wish! All details of the monthly plan and how you can snap up the June box can be found here

glossybox-review-june-uk

This month's box is all about new discoveries with five of summer's most exciting products and although a few of these products aren't new to me I can totally agree that it's a very summer themed box. Below are mini (ok, not so mini) reviews of all the products you receive with the June box.

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser (15ml travel size)
This is a moisturiser I've been wanting to try for some time now along with too many other products from Origins so I was so pleased to see this in the box. Even with the vivid orange packaging I didn't instantly know it would have such an amazing fresh orange scent to it but much like the amazing Ole Henriksen product this has a zingy citrus scent that certainly gives you a boost and leaves the skin feeling fresh. I also love that the cream is light weight and oil-free perfect for summer and oily/combination skin types. I'm going to try my best not to use this until my holiday in October but I have a feeling I will be treating myself to the full size version on using it up!

Spa To You Konjac Sponge RRP £6.99 (full size)
Although Konjac sponges aren't new to me I always happy to receive a new one as they can be used both over the face and body. Made from vegetable fibres this unique sponge becomes rock solid when dry and the smoothest rubbery sponge when wet. The sponge can be used alone to gently exfoliate the skin or with your favourite cleanser... or as I've discovered to remove face masks. This really is a unique product that I already love to use so I'm impressed to see Glossybox keeping up with current trends and including it in this month's box.

Ladival Sun Protection Spray SPF 15 RRP £19.99 (full size)
Ladival is a sun care brand I've seen become increasingly popular in the last 6 months as they have brought more advanced protection to the high street (I spotted the whole range in Asda recently). So I was instantly pleased to see a full size 150ml product... however with my fair skin SPF 15 just doesn't cut it sadly, I'm more of a SPF 30-50 kinda gal. However I plan to give this a little test out (then pass it onto someone that's blessed with less-transparent skin) on not so sunny days to see if I like the formula and then may buy the SPF 30 or 50 version as the specs for this are pretty good - instant protection, suitable for sensitive skin and water resistant.

glossybox-uk-review-june-2016

De Bruyere After Sun Lotion RRP £9.48 (50ml full size)
Staying with sun care with a rather lovely after sun moisturiser that smells heavenly! This beautifully packaged lotion is ideal for applying after a day in the sun and a perfect size to take on holiday with you. Enriched with Monoi (I don't know either) alongside vitamin E this will hydrate, nourish and calm skin. As for the scent this comes from the Monoi which is basically gardenia petals soaked in coconut oil which for me gives off almost a bubblegum scent that's very addictive.... I'm sniffing the back of my hand where I've applied it as I type this! I already know I'm going to love using this product but my first world problem is that it's a french product and after I've used up my tube and all the eBay listings of it have gone it's likely to be impossible to get hold of again!

Emite Makeup Lip & Cheek Tint RRP £12.50 (full size)
Onto lips and cheeks now with this not so summery looking tint. On first glance of the box this was the only product I was unsure of but after trying it out I can say it's quite a lovely berry red shade that will suit all skin tones. The gel like formula glides over the lips and cheeks and dries quickly to an invisible feel making it perfect for summer when you don't want to have the feeling of makeup on your skin. Another product I will be using over summer from this fab box.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner RRP £1.09 (20ml sachet sample)
Lastly as a bonus product is a sachet of the popular Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner that's already a huge favourite of mine. Again, this is another product ideal for the summer months when hair can start to feel dry from too much sun and need rescuing. For a high street hair mask it's incredible affective and smells amazing! This will be used ASAP as I've recently re-ombre'd my hair and it's in need of some TLC. A fab product to try out if you haven't already.

This really is one of my favourite boxes so far from Glossybox in 2016 and a great box to start off especially if you love Summer products or you have a holiday planned!

powder-beauty-drawer-box-review

Powder is the latest beauty box on the block and one you may have seen advertised in a few magazines lately! Unlike other beauty boxes it's crammed full of products and is more of a beauty drawer than a box.

Also unlike most beauty boxes this is a box that is tailored to you through your beauty profile which is a really nice touch. As for the price it's a single payment of £35 (no monthly subsciption here) plus p&p (normally £5 but free with code'MCFEB' throughout February) but the contents are worth an amazing £113, so you are making quite a saving here!

Buy the Powder Beauty Drawer here for £35 - remember to use the free p&p code!

new-powder-drawer-box

Included in the box are 14 products, of which 5 are full size and the rest are mostly deluxe samples. As you can see the box mainly focuses on skin and hair care with only two makeup products, I don't know if this will just be for the first box but for me I find makeup can be the most hit and miss in beauty boxes due to the range of shades that makeup products come in so I really don't mind this kind of box!

What's in the Powder Beauty Drawer?
Caudalie Moisturiser, STARSKIN face mask (4 types available), Merumaya Cream (3 types available), Balance Me Cleanser, Alpha-H Acid Toner, Caudalie Eye and Lip Cream, Tresemme Shampoo & Conditioner, L’Oreal Professional Hair Spray, L’Oreal Professional Styling Cream (3 types available), Rimmel Mascara, Benefit Primer and St Tropez Gradual Tan.

powder-drawer-review

I'm personally happy with all the products in the box and will be using them all, which is pretty amazing! But there are a few star products in the box for me. The main gem of the box is Alpha-H Liquid Gold which is worth £15 and something I've been wanting to try out for a while now. I also love that the new Sanctuary Spa Warming Detox Charcoal Wash is included in the box and I've already been enjoying it! Also the new L'Oreal Dual Styler is a really interesting product with a double applicator of a cream and a gel which I've already used and found really nice for taming frizz and keeping my hair straight even in rubbish weather.

I also like the addition of the Starskin Second Skin Face Mask, worth £8.50, as I've tried a few of these sheet masks now and they leave the skin feeling so fresh and smooth. Actually I could go on and on about all the products I'm excited to use because there are so many interesting and new products in the beauty drawer.

Of course the Powder Beauty Drawer is a treat at £35 but excellent value for money especially if you know you will use most of the products.

I already know I will find a few new favourites in this box and really can't wait to see what Powder come out with next!

Beauty_boxes-UK-February-2016

It's the month of love and two of the main beauty boxes have gone all out pink on us! As I was pleased with the contents of both of the above boxes I thought I'd share them with you.

Over the past few years I have been on the fence about beauty boxes as they can swing from amazing one month to boring and lack luster the next. However if you like the concept of trying new products each month then my advise would be to start off on a box that you love (i.e one of these!) and then cancel if you aren't happy with your next box.

Glossybox-February-2016

GLOSSYBOX - February 2016
This month's Glossybox is all about finding your beauty soulmates and being paired with the products that are basically 'the one'. From haircare to makeup and a few products in between this Glossybox has got us covered with a good mix of full size products and a super cute box to re-use. You can subscribe for a 3-month plan for £12.75 a box here.

What's included - Nicka K New York 24H Waterproof Eyeliner (worth £3.99), MUA Power Pout Glaze (worth £3.50), Browtician Limited Edition Tweezers (worth £7.99), Naobay Protective Hair Mask Conditioner (worth £10.64), Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor (worth £6.99).

Where to start with this box! I literally love everything in it! This reminds me of how good beauty boxes can be - a good mix of products, all full size, a mix of price points and no obscure brands you've never heard of. My favourite product from the box would be the Browtician Tweezers as I love the design and after trying them found them to be super sharp and precise. I also love the eyeliner for the packaging/shade, the conditioner as I was after a new one to try and the size of it is huge and the MUA Power Pout Glaze is a totally new product to me and now one I will be buying more of as I love it so much. Also the Wilkinson Razor is going straight into my shower as I love moisturising razors like this but never treat myself to them.

Overall - A total winner of a box! Simply nothing to fault and all the products will get used and enjoyed. I really hope Glossybox keep this standard up!

Look-fantastic-beauty-box-February-2016

#LFLOVES - February 2016
On to the beautifully boxed Look Fantastic box that is named #LFLOVES this month. This contains a good mix of deluxe samples and one full size product worth £18.99. Also the Look Fantastic box has the benefit of not having a subscription so if you like the look of it or future boxes from reviews online you can buy it within the month for a one off price of £15.00 here.

What's included - Hi Impact Brows Palette (worth £18.99), Lord & Berry Maxi Matte Lip Crayon Lipstick (worth £4.00), Bliss Grapefruit  + Aloe Body Butter 30ml (worth £4.00), Monu Bali Massage & Body Oil 35ml (worth £9.00), KMS Color Vitality Conditioner 75ml (worth £3.50), Miniature Denman Hairbrush. Plus March issue of Elle Magazine

On opening this box I was a little unsure of the contents as it's mainly deluxe samples however the full size brow palette is a bit of a gem as it can be used to fill in the brows and as an eyeshadow palette as well - I'm actually already using this and loving it! I was also pleased to see a Lord & Berry lip crayon sample in the box, though I love the shade I'm a bit confused as to why it's a hard pencil and not a soft creamy one as the full sized lip crayons are. I will also enjoy using the Bliss Body Butter but due to the fresh scent (which I love) I will be saving it to use in spring/summer. The KMS Conditioner is also a nice sample as it has a lovely scent and a slightly purple tint to brightened coloured hair... perfect for my dulling ombre ends. The only sample I'm not that keen on and will pass to someone that will use it, is the Monu Bali Body Oil as it has a strong lemongrass scent which just doesn't seem suited to a relaxing body oil for me.

Overall - As Look Fantastic boxes go this isn't one of their best as in total the box is worth £40 however I personally still like it. I would have liked to have seen more than one full sized product in the box but overall I will use pretty much everything and the addition of the mini hairbrush and Elle magazine are nice extras for the £15 price tag.

As you may have guessed my favourite beauty box this month is Glossybox! A true gem with so many products I'm eager to use.

latest in beauty gold box

Over the past few years I've featured many a Latest in Beauty box because they are one of my favourites when it comes to beauty boxes. They have the benefit of being one-off boxes so therefore a one-off payment and they offer incredible value for money.

Here I have the amazing Gold Box that is limited edition for Christmas 2015 and is literally stuffed with 14 products, including a few extra Christmas themed treats!

Latest-in-beauty-Christmas-2015-box

Favourites from the Gold box...
As you can see this box is stuffed full of amazing products from both budget and luxury beauty brands. Other than the odd product (I'm looking at you Tony & Guy Volume Whip and boring Elnett Hairspray) I know I will use all of the products over the coming months, but I do have quite a few favourites in this box!

Of course I love that the box contains a full size Nail Inc Gel Nail Polish, I received Covent Garden Place, and one of my favourite tint lip balms in the Carmex Moisture Balm in a shade I have yet to try! These are just perfect for winter lips. I also love that I finally get to try out one of the Aqua Blushes from Bourjois, again full size, in fact I'm already loving it. I've also been burning the lovely Orange & Clove candle which is perfect for the festive season and fills the room with a warmed orange spice scent which is just gorgeous. And lastly an ultimate favourites is the Vita Liberta Kabuki Brush... I already own one of these but I'm sooo not complaining that I now have two as these are the softest kabuki brushes I've ever felt and they really are so luxurious feeling - love, love, love!

Latest-in-beauty-gold-box-2015

As for the other Christmas themed items to the box I feel this is a nice touch and does make it feel like a festive box compare to all the other beauty boxes out there this month. Of course the tissues will be going straight in my handbag and I'm tempted to put the nail files in some DIY crackers I plan to make or just as a little stocking filler for someone. As for the cute Christmas card I also plan to be savvy with that and frame it and display it in my hallway - but of course you could actually use it as a Christmas card.

Overall this really is an incredible box for the money, with such a saving! But most importantly all the products are items that can easily slot into your beauty routine and I think most will enjoy using. Also a few of these products would work as excellent stocking fillers.

If you are thinking of treating yourself to one beauty box this Christmas make it this one!

Glossybox-harvey-nichols-box-2014

Beauty Box haven't been my thing for a while now (too many products I'm not interested in) but come Christmas I'm certain to get tempted by one LE box! This year it's the Glossybox Harvey Nichols Limited Edition Christmas box which is a jam packed box full of high-end beauty treats that's worth it's money and more.

Before I go raving about the box and it's products I want to point out that this box goes on sale at 12pm today (after it's been offered to people that signed up to be notified between 9-12pm) and will sell-out. Hopefully not within the day, though you never know, so if you do want the box then I would suggest acting fast! Cost wise the Limited Edition Christmas box costs £30 (plus p&p) to Glossybox subscribers and £35 for non-subscribers (plus p&p) here

Now onto the amazing contents of the box...

_____________________________________

As you can see the box reall is crammed packed and actually worth over £150! I personally find this the best beauty box to date with not a single product I don't want to use.... also who can't resist a beauty box with a Nars and OPI product in it! One word - spoilt.

Glossybox-christmas-box-2014

I won't bore you with going into detail about each product and what I like about it. So instead I thought I'd share with you my absolute favourites from the box.

First up has to be the Nars Satin Lip Pencil (normally £18.00) which is basically a lovely lip crayon in a universal shade (so pleased about this!). The crayon applies easily and has a lovely feel on the lips, as for the shade this makes my lips appear fuller and with more colour - certainly a your-lips-but-better shade. Next up I have to talk about the Show Dry Shampoo (normally £30?!), this isn't a brand I've heard of before but it's certainly a luxe product I liked the look of... also I was eager to see how good a dry shampoo that costs £30 could be. Okay... I'd never buy this for £30, because well that's just madness, but this is easily the nicest dry shampoo tried and it smells of toffee, which lingers in the hair all day! Very pleased it's a large can also. Onto the OPI Viking in Vinter Vonderland Nail Polish (normally £12) this is a beautiful deep purple shade that's perfect for winter and one I will definitely be wearing alone and under some festive glitter nail polishes this Christmas!

Another surprising favourite with the Harvey Nichols Mini Dining Candle (normally come in a set of 4 for £30) even though I'm obsessed with candles I didn't expect to like this for some reason but the look of the candle is just so stunning and the scent is ideal for burning after dinner - really fresh and clean. Alfter looking at the full set online I now think it will be going on my Christmas list! Last but not least a mini of the ever popular Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (normally £80 for 50ml - 15ml sample) with oily/combination skin I've just been using this as a night cream and actually felt the difference in my skin after one use - my skin felt so soft! This is hugely pricey full size so it's probably not wise to love it but it's a generous sample and one I can always hunt down on eBay once I've used it up.
_____________________________________

As you may have noticed I didn't include some of the better know products in my favourites, this is because I already own and love a few of them! The Laura Mercier Foundation Primer is a total winner, as is Benefit's They're Real Mascara and the Macadamia Hair Oil is a must when my hair is feeling damaged.

Overall this really is an amazing box that is like Christmas when you open it! Whether you buy this as a Christmas present to yourself (yes, it's so allowed!), split the products for gifts to friends & family or give it to a beauty obsessed friend this Christmas, you certainly won't be let down by this box. As mentioned at the top, the limited edition box will be on sale at 12pm today (17th November) here

What do you think of the box? I'd love to know.

PS. I'm totally loving my larger blog photos!

Beauty_Mart_Lastest_in_Beauty_Box

Last week I mentioned the launch of the Beauty Mart Beauty Box from Latest In Beauty (£12.95 here plus p&p) and today I thought I would show you the actual contents.

Astalift Jelly Aquarysta Rejuvenating Concentrate – sachet sample
Mary Greenwell Plum – perfume vial sample
Bronze Buffer Tan Remover – 1 sponge
Weleda Skin Food – 10ml sample

Beauty_Mart_Box_Review

 Favourite products...
From the entire box the Balmain Silk Hair Perfume has to be my favourite product. I'm quite surprised by this as hair perfume sounds like a useless product but this actually contains argain oil and does give the hair a silk finish along with a glorious scent (I won't even try to describe it, but it's subtle and lovely). I'm sure the bottle will last me ages and will be decanting some into a smaller spray bottle to take on holiday with me next month. Another perfect summer/holiday product is the Fake Tan Remover Sponge that I'm sure I will be making use of on holiday and throughout summer as it can be re-used. As for the Kevin.Murphy Color.Bug this is such an intense, pigmented hair chalk that I'm hoping it will show up in my brown hair... quite excited to give coloured ombre hair a try.

 Overall...
If you are a true beauty lover that likes to try a mix bag of products then this is the box you as you will be sure to find some gems you love. Or if you wanted to try out one of the full size products anyway such as the Color Bug or Silk Perfume. I personally love the box for this reason as I like trying out new products and the added 20% off code I will be sure to put to good use. But if nothing stands out to you this may seem like a weak box especially with the standard perfume and sachet samples that no one enjoys.

Will be making sure to report back if the Color Bug works!

Beauty_Mart_Beauty_Box

A super duper Beauty Box to share with you today from BeautyMART! The box contains some amazing cult products for only £12.95 here but is actually worth £50, making it quite a savvy buy!

Here is what to expect from the box...

Balmain Silk Perfume (full size/200ml) - A luxury hair perfume with added benefits of Argan Oil, this retails for a pricey £24.50! This is one of two full sized products in the box that is without a doubt a luxury treat.

Kevin Murphy Color Bug (full size) - This is a product that has interested me for a while so I was excited to see it in the box! Great for summer and experimenting with bold hair colour without the commitment. Worth £13.00!

Astalift Jelly Aquarysta Rejuvenating Concentrete (0.5g sachet) - Not too keen on sachets of creams if I'm honest but they are a standard beauty box product. One to throw in my 'to try on holiday' stash.

Bronze Buffer Tan Remover (1 sponge) - An interesting product here and one great for summer. This is a product from the U.S that cleverly buffs away tan marks on knees, feet, hands and anywhere else you have unsightly tan build up. The Bronze Buffer Sponge retails for £10.00 on the BeautyMART website for 2 sponges but if I'm correct these can be used multiple times! Interested in trying this out.

Weleda Skin Food (10ml travel size tube) - A great multi-purpose product that sorts out all kinds of skin woes. This handy travel sized tube will definitely be great to keep in my handbag and also take on holiday with me.

Rimmel BB Cream Matte (8ml tube, shade: Light) - A high street product I have yet to try out. Amazingly this is in a light shade (instead of the typical generic beige) making it a foundation/bb cream sample I can try out for once.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (20ml Bottle) -The only product I've try from the box and one I really like. This is a thick cleansing oil that really does remove all traces of makeup!

Mary Greenwell Plum (perfume vial, 2ml) - Another standard beauty box sample here. I've try this scent before and actually quite like it.

Free Gift - YU-BE Moisturizing Skin Cream (10ml tube) - YU-BE Moisturisng Cream has been making the beauty blogging rounds for the past year with some great review so this is a nice extra to be included with the box.

A great selection products from Beauty Mart that I'm looking forward to trying out.

Review of the actual box and products to come soon on this... though I have a feeling it may sell out pretty fast!

Glamour_Beauty_Edit_February_2014

Just in time for spring the Glamour Beauty Edit Box is back! With a saving of over £30 the box is just as good as ever, featuring 7 great products.

Priced at £14.95 with free shipping you can find the Glamour Edit over on the Latest In Beauty website here. But I'm thinking this will sell out pretty soon as all past boxes have done so in a matter of days. There are lots of products in the box that appeal to me but instantly I'm drawn to the new L'Oreal Manga Mascara that launched only last week at £8.99 alone. I've also been dying to try out an Invisibobble

Below are the full contents of the Glamour Edit Box...

The box also includes a full size Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, full size Daniel Sandler Waterproof Eyeliner, full size Cheeky Chat Me Up Nail Paint, 50ml Rituals Rice Milk & Cherry Blossom Foaming Shower Gel and a 50ml Percy & Reed Volumising Hair Mousse.

Overall a pretty great beauty box that caters everything from hair to nails, to lips and eyes. As I mentioned above these boxes never stay around for long so it you like the look of the box then I'd snap it up before they sell out!

July_2013_Glossybox

For me the fun of having a beauty box subscription comes to play most in summer and at Christmas. At these times the products in box seem especially great and are very focused on that season/holiday. So I was more than excited when I saw a preview of the July Glossybox and the amazing coral reef inspired box.

I am really pleased with what I received in my box but know the other variations of this box are even better with Essie Nail Wraps, Sleek Pout Paints and Spot Fix from Nip & Fab! So if you are tempted by what I received you probably won't be disappointed if you purchase the box.

You can sign up for a basic monthy contract to receive this specific box (which you can even cancel straight away to receive no future boxes... though I'm sure August will be another good box month) for £12.95 here.

What I received in the  Seaside Splash Edition box...
Alterna Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist 25ml size (full size - 125ml for £23.00)
Coola Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented 7ml (full size - 50ml for £29.99)
Inecto Pure Coconut Refreshing Dry Shampoo 150ml (full size - 150ml for £2.49
ILA Spa Face Oil 1.75ml (full size - 30ml for £75.00)
Ciate Paint Pot in Mistress 13.5ml (full size 13.5ml - £9.00)

Favourite products from the box...
Firstly I know I will try out all of the products in the box - always good! But the ones I can see myself getting a lot of use from and really enjoying is the Ciate Paint Pot which is a lovely summery bright red (this will be going on my toes ASAP). Also the Coconut Dry Shampoo as it smells lovely and I'm really impressed with the price of it and the Texture Mist is something I have been tempted to buy in the past few weeks as I want to be able to curl my hair slightly and spritz it in to give a more beachy feel that won't turn frizzy.

Also the Mineral Face SPF 20 even though pretty tiny will be going into my handbag in case of emergencies. Least loved product would be the ILA Face Oil as it's not really a summer product and is very pricey full-size.

Overall this is a perfect box for summer that I'm thoroughly pleased with!

Latest_In_Beauty_Nail_Box

First and foremost I have to quickly make you aware that I'm going to be one of those annoying bloggers* that is reviewing something that is currently out of stock! But fear not, there is a reservation list to be notified when this box comes back in stock (here).

With that out of the way I think I may have the best beauty box I have ever laid my hands on. This is truly a nail junkies dream and also such a bargain!

You Magazine have teamed up with Latest In Beauty yet again to come out with an amazing box of nail products for only £14.95 inc p&p. I knew by just looking at the products they had a much higher retail value than that so I decided to search the internet for the price of everything and worked out that this box is actually worth £56?! So it really is well priced at under £15.

*Had to get that out of the way as there was no way I could make you lust after this box and then let you down at the end of the post by telling you it was out of stock!

Here is what to expect from the Ultimate Summer Nails Box when it becomes available again...

Butter London Nail Polish in Yummy Mummy
If I had to pick a highlight of the box it would be this nail polish! Butter London is a high end nail polish that doesn't come cheap at £12 a bottle. I don't actually own any Butter polishes so this has definitely been warmly welcomed in to my nail polish family. I can't say Yummy Mummy is what I would call a summer shades but it is a good nude staple.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover
This is a product I have been meaning to try for so long! I'm actually surprised at myself that I haven't owned it until now. I really did expect this to be similar to all the other nail polish removers in tubs that I have previously tried, but the sponge is actually a lot more firm and almost fits around your nail meaning it really does remove nail polish in seconds. Majorly impressed with this.

Rituals Nail Polish Corrector Pen
For me cleaning up nail polish around the cuticles isn't much of an issue as I've become quite good at painting my nails since becoming a blogger with a nail polish addiction. However corrector pens do come in handy when I'm in a rush. I always seems to rest my hand on the top of the nail polish bottle or I smudge a nail against my arm so this pen will come in handy. I do actually own this specific corrector pen already and it is still going strong so I may have to give this away to someone or keep it as a back-up.

Nails Inc Minis in Notting Hill Gate & Kensington Caviar Top Coat
Ahhhh I love me some mini nail polishes! Now these are ideal summer essentials, especially if you are going on holiday. Notting Hil Gate is the most perfect vibrant pink for summer and the Caviar Top Coat is something I have been wanting to try since forever. I would never buy these for £5 each but I was so pleased to see them included in the box.

Essie Sleek Stickers in So Haute
I'm not that much of a fan of nail wraps as I find them awkward to apply and wear... so these are probably my least liked product from the box. Having said that I am impressed that they are by Essie and I do like the design of them, so I will be giving them a go and may even like them. Nails Wraps are a bit like marmite, you either love them or hate them I have found.

The Vintage Cosmetics Company Nail File
A nice looking nail file to keep in my handbag is never a bad thing. This pretty one from the Vintage Cosmetics Company comes with it's own plastic sleeve to keep it nice and away from scratching anything. Nothing special about the actually file its self but pretty and girly non the less.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream
No nail box would be complete without a hand cream and this is one of the best. I've only tried mini sizes of the L'Occitane hand creams before so this is a real treat to receive a full sized one and in a lovely shea butter scent. This is already in my nail extras box to use after I've removed my nail polish.

This is without a doubt the most amazing box for the price. I just hope when it comes back in to stock there will be enough boxes for everyone that wants one!

Glossy_Box_UK_April_2013_Review

Beauty Box Subscription reviews have been pretty absent from my blog for a long time now. The reason for this was I just didn't know how I felt about them. There were so many boxes and sometimes I'd love a box and then the next box I'd hate. So I felt it was very hit and miss.

Also I really disliked how I would grow to love a beauty box company then they would either go out of business or stop their box subscriptions... this happened 3 times to me! However Glossy Box were the first ones in the UK and they have stayed and not changed- woop! There have been boxes I have disliked but I think they do understand more and more that people enjoy trying out brands that they have at least heard of.

Glossybox_april_box

This month's box (which you can order here for £12.95!) has been my favourite in the past few months (though I did also really enjoy March's box) so I thought I would show you and also do some mini reviews of the lovely products. However do bear in mind there are different variations of the April box so you may want to Google for some other reviews to see what other people received before buying it.

The April box consists of five products, two of which are full sized items costing £23 combined! The box is also limited edition which has been designed by Pearl Lowe, making it perfect to re-use.

Nip + Fab Dry Skin Fix Body Butter in Pistachio Sundae
(other boxes may contain Mango Soothie or Coconut Latte)
50ml Mini size - £2.95 from Boots
I was so thrilled when I spotted this in the box. I love Nip + Fab products and had thought of trying out this product so many times in Boots. Pistachio Sundae would have been the scent I'd of gone for as well. I can 100% say this is the most yummy smelling body butter ever. I thought The Body Shop body butters were good but this is just so good you want to actually taste it! But as you can see it isn't a typical body butter as it is thinner in consistency so even though I do love it I would class it as more of a thick moisturiser. You can also buy bigger 200ml pots for £9.95.

Essie Nail Lacquer in Nice Is Nice
13.5ml Full size - £ 7.99
Another amazing product in the box! As Glossy box contents are supposed to contain 5 luxury samples this is an amazing product as it is actually a full size Essie polish. This gorgeous shade was part of the 2011 Spring collection however is just as current for this spring. I do have a few lilac shades in my collection however this is more of a muted down lilac pastel which I really love.

Yves Rocher So Elixir Purple Eau de Parfum
5ml Bottle- Full size 30ml £29
Normally I hate when beauty boxes include perfume samples however if it is a minature bottle then I actually quite like that as you can sample it out properly. I have vaguely heard of Yves Rocher before and actually like the scent of this perfume, so will be using up the bottle (which is good!) but I highly doubt I would purchase it as I don't love it enough. But a nice mini product to include in the box.

Model Co Cheek + Lip Tint in Rosy Red
10ml Full size - £15
Other than the False Lash Effect Brush-on lashes I haven't tried anything from Model Co and didn't really know they did this sort of product. The tint is a thin gel like product that pretty much instantly soaks in to the skin and has a nice berry scent to it. I have already tried this on the lips and it gives a nice light stain that really feels like you aren't wearing any product. Really love lightweight multi-tasking product like this so another thumbs up from me!

Sun Sense Daily Face SPF 50+
10g Sample - Full size 75g £18.50
This is quite an interesting sample that I will be keeping until summer to try out as it is SPF 50. I am in to my high SPF sun screens especially ones for the face as I think it's so important if you want to prevent early wrinkles and for older age. So even though the full size is a bit pricey I would purchase it if I liked the sample enough.

As you can see I pretty much loved all of the products in this months box and I also think Glossy Box are really getting it spot on with the types of products they place in the boxes... as these are all perfect for Spring.

You can find out more about subcribing to Glossy Box and purchasing this box (which you would receive in 5 days)  - here
